Dear Patriarchy, I Want My Stuff Back

Check out how awesome our feminist neighbors to the north are.  Here is a video made by  Jenna Owsianik, a Canadian feminist and creator of the Miss G Project, currently working on getting courses in Gender Studies into the Ontario school curriculum.  Pretty sweet, eh?

This video almost makes me excited for Midterm Week!!!  (Not really–but it’s still cool.)

  1. Rock on! Riots not Diets, ya’ll! Hah, I like the title of this post too. I’ll be over feminism when society is over patriarchy.

  2. Wow…the Miss G project is basically what I want to do with my life: integrate feminism and multiculturalism in school curriculum. I am so happy that this exists…..o Canada. I wonder if they have a model for doing this with elementary school kids? Bwahahahahahahahahaha

Oh, and I heart that movie. Makes me want to graffiti things with pro-fem messages. w00t.

  3. Yeah! This video is totally exciting, thanks for sharing.
I agree with Caitlin that I now have a strong urge to grafitti pro-feminism messages all over.

  4. I think Jenna has her own YouTube page. I believe I stumbled upon it one afternoon.

Caitlin, I agree re: integrating multiculturalism/feminism into school curriculum, which is why I can’t wait to be an English teacher. My students are going to rock our classroom, not gonna lie.
