Larry King on The Day of Silence

This actually gave me the chills–perhaps because it is an older, white guy in suspenders passionately talking about the importance of this Day and the right to EVERY student to go to school and feel safe.  In recent years, this day has become so controversial, with crazy conservative clans urging parents to keep their children home if their school decided to partake in the event. (I’m gonna have to quote Wikipedia on this one):

For reasons unknown, these group leaders have inflated egos and feel that they have the right to judge others, something clearly outlined as sinful within the Bible.

Thank you, Larry King, for speaking out and supporting such a simple but seemingly radical plea: to live in a world where all students are free to live without bullying or harassment because of their sexual orientation or gender expression.
