  1. Nah, sounds pretty accurate. Perhaps someone could make a case for Jasmine being more than a damsel in distress, but the others seem lost.

  2. Could be looking at it a little one-sided.

    For example, the Little Mermaid is also about a woman making up her mind for herself (independent of her father).

    Snow White, Cinderella and Belle are all women of great virtue. Watching these movies as a child, that was what stuck with me more than the way that they looked. In fact, it can be argued they teach children to associate true beauty with goodness. However, these stories (and it’s the movies, really, not the stories) probably hit different people in different ways.
